Bobby Sabella began his career as a professional drummer in 1983. He had prepared for the demands of the pro-level live music and recording scene by studying at Berklee College of Music and then privately with a few great teachers such as Kenwood Dennard, Gary Chester and Joe Bonadio. Soon, Sabella was immersed in an active schedule that included not only gigging full time at night, but also recording and teaching private students during the day.

Always thinking beyond the realm of drumming, Sabella began collaborating with fellow musician Frank Migliorelli. Together they wrote and produced many original Pop Rock songs. In 1996, Sabella was offered a full time job with Migliorelli’s company, RaveOn Productions, which then lead to a full partnership in 1999.

At RaveOn productions, Sabella participated in creating and producing music for the children's educational market, writing songs, creating sound effects, and recording voiceover for numerous award winning interactive CD-ROM programs for Sunburst Communications. Soon, the pair was scoring dozens of educational video programs as well. This led to writing jingles for Television and Radio for a few New York based ad agencies. In 1998 they produced the music for The X-Files Unrestricted Access for FOX.

In 2002 Migliorelli was offered a job with ESI (Edwin Schlossberg Interactive) as the creative director for interactive design. It was then that Bobby decided to start Power Play Sound and media design. Since then, Bobby has been busy writing and producing original music and sound design for TV, radio and the Web. Some of those projects have included original music for Chippendales DVD’s, scoring the documentary “Far a Field", the independent films “Getaway” and “Dinner for 4”, and as a vast amount of children’s music and sound design for video and CD ROM for companies such as Vivendi Universal and Houghton Mifflin.

Sabella's television and radio credits include commercials spots for Pitney Bowes, Gannett Suburban Newspapers-The Journal News, Park Ford, Club Fit, and Hyatt Hotels. Sabella also produces and records many books on tape and ESL programs for companies such as Pearson-Longman as well as many industrial training programs.

Despite a busy career in sound design, Sabella has not strayed from his drum beginnings. He still performs live on drums with his own jazz group as well as doing a lot of freelance gigging and recording.
